Time Estimates
Coll d’Ordino is a Pyrenean ascent in Andorra which can be climbed from two directions: Ordino in the west, or Canillo in the east. As one of the few through roads in Andorra, you will be hard-pressed to ride there without taking on this climb from one side or the other!
Zwift’s version is from the Canillo side and was added to the Climb Portal in August 2023 to celebrate its inclusion in the 2023 Vuelta a España. There Coll d’Ordino featured in stage 3 as the big climb just before a final uphill finish.
Here’s an IRL segment that is close to Zwift’s, although it ends a bit early:
Nice. New climbs, keep them coming. 21 Days of Spanish racing, so at least 3 or 4 more climbs. 👍👍
If they do not bring Altu de l’Angliru I’ll be seriously disappointed.
I guess you are still disappointed,then 😉
A little bit yeah.
Really like this concept keep them coming would like to see more than just one portal climb on the schedule thou
Agreed. More rotation and/or more choices will be welcome. The format has grown on me, and I enjoy these climbs.
Agreed, this needs a new climb every 4-5 days. Changing every two weeks is very frustrating
Totally agree, no reason you can’t have one climb portal access point in every active world to give a few options.
They nead to add a way of choosing the climb, I finished a workout and wanted to do a short climb afterwards, hoping for Crow Road, when I got to the climb portal I found Bealech ne Ba, so no climb portal for me. The bare minimum should be a hard climb and an easy one
We have now 12 climbs in the portal. If they do not add any more, with a 2 week rotation it means that we will have to wait 22 weeks (around 5 months) to see the same climb again. It would be nice to have more choices, maybe 3: a short, a medium and a long climb. An change them maybe every week or so.
And probably they will add more climbs, maybe some climbs from Iitaly next month, australia when the Tour down under at nexte year, etc.
Would be great to have several climbs to choose from, current scheduling is odd.
Get Fulgaz. No end of climbs there.
Just did Bealech ne Ba for the fourteenth time. It’s a fine 30-ish minutes, but now the two climbs that follow in the rotation are also similar in duration, if not quite as steep. Clearly Zwift knows that we’re all waiting on the Angliru during the Vuelta like we’d wait on the Stelvio during the Giro . . . Just give me a choice between a 30 minute ride and an hour-plus epic climb. I promise I won’t complain if there’s only a few people on the day’s long climb. Add variety and we’ll shut up.
Good catch. Fixed!
Just updated it.
Wolf in sheep’s clothing this one. Averages hide the fact that there is pain to be had for those so inclined =)
What would really be more impressive if we start seeing so the Asian Hill Climbs. Mt Fuji has a variety of routes. The Otari park climbs like Tsugaike Nature Park Course. Taiwan has a huge number of cat. 2 and above including TaiwanKOM – the Asian 4 horseman only 3X more vertical. Korea’s Soerak Granfondo. Just to name a few
Zwift indicates this to be a Category 2 climb. But it lists it as a Category 1 climb here.
Where does Zwift day that?
Sorry, to clarify: this article lists the climb as Category 1st, while Strava lists the Watopia and France climb segment climbs as Category 2.
Hello,
Regarding time estimates, it would be nice to have intermediates power to weight ratio to help better estimate our climb time. Whereas 3w/kg shall be OK for Any fit rider, you don’t see much ppl at 4w/kg on most climbs. As the relation between w/kg and time is nothing but linear, could you add estimates for 3.5 and 4.5?
Thanks
Just happened to do the climb today at 3.5 w/kg and my time was 32 minutes. Unfortunately I won’t be able to help you out with a time for 4.5 w/kg 🥵😉
Is this pair of ascent and descent at the top suitable for everesting compared to the one in Epic? Any thoughts?
I am over 10.5 km and screen says I’ve gone 17%. What is going on? My schedule is for shorter ride today so I just quit
I invetigated further. This climb Coll d’Ordino was listed as climb of the week this week, I started and it went on FOREVER. After writing the above email, I found that Zwift software had sent me to a different climb that was much longer as I experienced. I only had limited time and effort in my training plan so … I quit the climb.
