I saw quite a bit of improvement which is not at all surprising as the baseline ride was the first Zwift ride (and 2nd overall ride if you count a ~1 mile shakedown ride the day prior) since getting hit by a car while cycling in the real world back in May (and then having surgery to remove tumors from my leg in June).

Honestly, there probably should have been more improvement, but I did hard race on Saturday, Workout 5 on Sunday, Workout 6 on Monday, and then the Finish Line Ride on Tuesday. Before I started the Finish Line ride, my Garmin was telling me I needed to take 65 hours recovery, but I’d been pushing to get the whole thing done after getting a late start due to it taking longer than expected for me to get a new bike and get it built after the car wrecked my old one.

I hope the Legends and Lava course stays around so we can race on it sometime. Eventually, I hope to get my numbers on those segments back to where they were prior to the injuries.

Yes, I’d like the courses to stick around as well.

I improved on my times…for all 3 segments 😀 . Happy with the results.

Yes improved on all 3 segments 452/334W, 300/234W, 241/227W. Looking at the Today’s Plan ZA Dashboard I was about average throughout the power curve for 50-59 age group & so cannot complain. Although on the first ride I did go too fast in between segments so my improvements are perhaps higher than they would have been otherwise.

My short and medium segment results were both worse in my ZA finish line ride. I think because I was unaware that the segments had started, and once I figured that they had it was too late to make up any time. On the other hand I thought that the Volcano KOM had started so I pushed hard for about 2 minutes before it actually started. I still managed to take some time off my baseline time but when I went through the finish line archway, I was gassed. I should have done a little research before doing the finish line but figured i would see the blinking dots across the roadway to start a segment. Problem is in this event arches were used to start and end. I saw them but didn’t put 2 + 2 together, and misunderstood a random arch to mean the volcano KOM had started. In the end I finished, that’s what counts!
