Zwift has rolled out a fresh Mission for May focused on the 2024 Mt. Fuji Hill Climb event, as once again this year Zwift hosts a “Dojo Series” for the IRL event. But this year, for the first time ever, riders can ride a GPS replica of the IRL climb in Zwift!
Note: signups opened this week, but the Mission doesn’t begin until April 30th.
Getting Started
To begin the Mission, select the mission card on your homescreen and click to register:
Once you’ve registered, clicking the mission card will show your Mission progress.
Completing the Mission
After registering for the mission, climb at least 1,208 meters (3,963′) between April 30 and May 31 to complete it and earn the achievement badge.
Want to finish the mission in one go, with a dash of class? The Mt. Fuji climb portal will be opening for the first time on May 1st, and it’s featured and available throughout the month as the climb of the month!

I’ve participated in the Mt. Fuji Dojo Series for the last few years. In previous years, the workouts appeared to have been created by a different coach than this year’s program which appears to be borrowing workouts from Zwift’s library. Cool that Zwift put Mt.Fuji Climb Portal in game. However, I think a Mt. Fuji climb would have made a nice addition to Makuri Islands.
Yeah 100% – since they now have the GPS accurate details in and the portal road, all it will take is to pop in the scenery. I’m sure that takes a little while, but would hope after all this they bring it to Makuri.
Looks like a lot of fun Eric. I really enjoy the clim portal and always welcome new additions. If I had one Zwift wish, it would be to see some of the great Mallorca climbs added like Sa Collobra. Can you have a word with those nice Zwift folk please Eric?
I think the addition that the portals need is a list showing which you have done, at what difficulty and maybe with badges (half the badge for half difficulty?)

I climbed Mt. Fuji today but forgot to register to the mission. Is there any way it can be approved anyway? 😭
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure based on past missions that you can still sign up after the fact and anything you’ve accrued (whether it be distance or elevation) still gets counted as long as it’s within the mission time period.
Doesn’t seem to have happened for me. Rode the whole thing. Signed up. No credit.
When you do a portal climb at 50%, do the meters climbed count for this mission?
