Named for the Peristyle building next to the arch, this was the original location of the start/finish line for IRL Prospect Park races.
The Peristyle, sometimes called the Grecian Shelter, was designated as a “Croquet Shelter” on the original plans of Prospect Park.
This sprint is slightly uphill at the start, but levels out on the back half. It’s preceded by the longest, steepest descent in Prospect Park, though, so you’ll carry plenty of speed heading into it!
