Named for the Peristyle building next to the arch, this was the original location of the start/finish line for IRL Prospect Park races. (But those races always go in a CCW direction, so nobody was sprinting on this segment in real life.)
The Peristyle, sometimes called the Grecian Shelter, was designated as a “Croquet Shelter” on the original plans of Prospect Park.
This sprint is just slightly uphill overall, but with a downhill before the entry, it will be a fast segment every time!
